Toddler eats! Peanut butter apple oatmeal

This was a huge hit. HUGE.

And I thought about taking a picture of the oatmeal, but oatmeal doesn’t photograph very well, in my opinion. It just looked gross, so no images to go with this. Use your imagination, and picture a bowl of oatmeal with apple chunks. And there you go.

Anyway. You’ll need:

  • Oatmeal.
  • half an apple, chopped
  • milk, cream, or your favorite substitute
  • maple syrup
  • peanut butter
  • cinnamon

1. Chop up the apple into bite sized chunks.

Imagine: cleverly staged, well lit, slightly over-exposed picture of hands chopping an apple

2.  Start cooking your oatmeal however you want. I like quaker oats, so I follow the instructions on the box for 2 servings. This is 1 and 3/4 cup of water, boiling, add 1 cup of oats, and simmer for 5 minutes. When you add your oats, add your apple.

Imagine: some measuring cups and some dry oatmeal. Perhaps even an action shot of pouring the oats into the water.

3. When oats are done cooking, remove from heat and into serving bowls. Add a little milk, maple syrup, and a bunch of peanut butter. And then sprinkle with cinnamon.

Imagine: white, shiny bowl with yummy finished oatmeal inside.

OR

Imagine: happy little Jonas sitting in his high chair, shoveling said oatmeal into his mouth as fast as he can.
