January makeup favorites.

I am and will never be any kind of actual makeup blogger. BUT. That doesn’t mean I can’t share what products I’m currently obsessing over. (I’m not calling these “beauty” favorites because, well, I don’t think they have anything to do with beauty. Anyway.)

These are the things that fall into the realm of skincare, haircare, makeup favorites for the month of January.

January was cold. My skin felt dry. So I used my old standby moisturizing products: Paula’s choice skin recovery serum and moisture boost cream (I have a tube of the serum, and just buy samples of the cream because I only use it for a few weeks a year). When my skin felt more normalized, I used my face moisturizer of life, holy-grail status moisturizer that I will never ever change, RESIST AntiAging Clear Skin Hydrator. If you have breakout prone skin, but are starting to show signs of aging, then you should try this.  If you want, you can use my referral link For the rest of my body, my favorite has been Avon’s Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing lotion.

Late in the month, I bought this Bare Escentuals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Gel Cream sort of on a whim. It was brand new at Ulta, and it sort of hit all the high points of what I’ve been looking for. So I just bought it (I had a coupon!). And while it could stand to have a little bit more coverage, the color match is dead on for my weird skin that I can never find a match for. It lasts a good amount of time. I top it with my favorite powder, Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation using just a light dusting to keep the shinies away and to add a touch more coverage.

My blush favorite was Laura Gellar’s Pink Grapefruit, a warm pinky mauve color (super similar to Milani Rose d’Oro if you want a dupe), and my lip favorite was Clinique Whole Lotta Honey and L’oreal glossy balm in Baby Berry.

I’m going to start really keeping up with what I’m wearing in February so I can share, but also so I know what things I reach for regularly and what things I don’t. I already know that next month I’m going to have to talk about the Kat Von D InnerStellar palette. Ooooh man, those eyeshadows make me swoon.

I love reading these. I am slowly wanting to try different things and find some good products. I LOVE Kat Von D’s eye shadows and her mascara. The eye shadows last forever. I still have one (I believe you got me) from Christmas years ago and Shay’s sister bought me the same exact one. Haven’t even opened it yet. LOVE. I am going to look into some of these that you posted about! It’s nice for those of that are…challenged. 🙂
